New Hours for The Doctor’s Office Voted #1

March 2, 2009

Dr. Vails for M.D. MagazineThank you! We have been voted #1 in patient satisfaction among Hill Physicians South Area doctors. We also rated highest in patient access and coordinated patient care. We are grateful to those of you who completed patient satisfaction surveys. I am so proud of my staff; they work so hard to take great care of you and your families. Thank you for trusting in us.

Our office was recently featured on the cover of M.D. News Magazine which goes out to all doctors offices. You can read that article on our website.

New Office and Phone HoursClockface

You asked, you begged, you win!! We now have early morning appointments on Monday’s and Wednesday’s starting at 8 AM. We have also extended our telephone hours to 9 AM daily.

We also want to welcome Megan to the front desk. She was promoted to this position and is doing an amazing job. She is truly enjoying meeting each of you.

Cash Pay Patients and $40 Office Visits

Economic times are tough for all us. Some of you may be facing a loss of your medical insurance. Our typical cash pay office visit ranges from $100 to $250. During this economic downturn and for limited medical issues, we will reduce the cost to as low as $40.00. To qualify (and to satisify the lawyers) you must not have insurance coverage at the time of your visit and complete a financial need form in our office. We do not verify your income. This is an honor system. If you can pay more, great. If not, that’s ok too. You simply must pay the fee at the time of your visit.

We extend this offer to new patients as well. Let someone you know who needs this option know. Ideally they should sign up to be a patient before they have an urgent need to be seen.

The process of becoming a new patient in our office just got easier. New patients can now stop in any Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday between 4 pm and 6 pm to complete the registration process. Orientation is also now held twice monthly. I would like to get Orientation on a DVD to really streamline becoming a new patient. If you have a passion for producing videos and want to showcase your skills, please contact the office.

Luca Dressed in BlueEducation, New Babies and Other Tidbits

You know I am all about education. I have added the very best article I have ever read on the vaccine and autism debate to my website.

You may want to check out this website: www.drgsmedisense.com. I really like this local doctor’s electronic newsletter. She takes a lot of time to explain really tough medical issues without all the media spin and with lots of real science in plain English. I really enjoyed her articles titled “Diet Sweetener Scare,” “Herbal Supplements” and “Constipation, Bloating, Diarrhea, and Pain” in her September 2008 newsletter. You can sign up to receive future issues if you are interested. Just one more resource for reliable information.

Finally, I have updated the New Arrivals blog on my website so check out all the babies I have personally delivered in the past few months. And here is an updated photo of my little Luca to brighten your day.

At Vails Family Practice, our whole purpose is to take care of you – to provide comprehensive, personal health care to you and your families. I am grateful to continue to care for you and your families.

Remember we grew from just one patient and your referrals will allow us to thrive during tough economic times. Please consider forwarding this email to a friend.

Sincerely,

Julie Vails, MD
